Saturday 27 July 2024 from 6pm to 8:30pm
Join us for a mesmerising evening of music at the historic Independent Theatre North Sydney. Sip on champagne and enjoy savoury treats while immersing yourself in a music performance full of the elegance and drama of the Romantic era.
ABOUT THE MUSIC
Featured works include Franz Schubert's poetic ‘Grand Duo’ Sonata in A major and Richard Strauss's magnificent Violin Sonata. A Haydn solo sonata for piano shares a musical language with Schubert, while a Ysaÿe solo sonata for violin moves the music into the twentieth century with echoes of Bach. This is a program infused with the spirit of youth. Schubert was twenty, and Strauss was twenty-three when the works were composed - a similar age to Cedar and Calvin.
