The Metropolitan Orchestra’s next Met Concert will explore incredible depths of feeling as expressed through Tchaikovsky’s outstanding Sixth Symphony, while also examining the transition from light to darkness with the world premiere of Deeper, which also showcases the truly mesmerising sounds of the Contrabass Saxophone featuring soloist Michael Duke.
Led by Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams with the full might of The Metropolitan Orchestra, this performance also presents two world premieres from Australian Composers Paul Cutlan and Jim Coyle, who is well known for creating works of critical acclaim that are both thought-provoking and exceptionally accessible. The Deeper Concerto pays homage and sensitivity to Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony to ensure a balanced and sublime musical experience.
