The Memory Lane Choir meets weekly on a Tuesday afternoon at St Luke's Care in Potts Point. It is for those living with dementia and their carers to come together and sing classic songs and tunes. These sessions are a fun and social activity; no prior choral experience required.
Music is known to help reduce anxiety and depression in people living with dementia. It can help maintain speech and language, reignite lost memories, stimulate cognition and enhance quality of life.
Carers comment on the positive impact singing has on their loved one after a choir session and report a noticeable improvement in mood and cognition.
We are always welcoming new members of our choir and would love for you to join us.
