Have you ever wondered how a simple piece of wood can transform into a breath taking sculpture or how seemingly ordinary fabric can become a beautiful item of clothing?
Join Powerhouse volunteers as they explore objects from the collection and delve into real-world examples of how craftsmen and artisans select and manipulate materials to produce wonderful designs. From the tactile richness of natural fibres to the sleek precision of timber and subtle curves of pottery, we will explore the close relationship between materials and design over the years. So, whether you are a designer, maker, or simply a craft enthusiast, this talk is for you!
Morning tea provided.
