It is a touring film programme showcasing Hong Kong filmmakers whose works transformed film aesthetic, invites film directors and casts from Hong Kong to attend the screenings cum sharing sessions.

First launched in 2022, Making Waves has already travelled to 15 international cities. We hope this programme can take you through Hong Kong cinema's evolution, celebrating its past success while offering insights into a new dawn built on resilience and creative innovation.

The film festival is presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Sydney and the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, in collaboration with Hong Kong Film Festival in Australia.
