Maggie Stein – Interior Expansion

This body of work reflects my continuing exploration of image and mark making in printmaking and mixed media forms.

I have chosen to work on larger scale prints and some mixed media pieces in the last few years. These pieces offer greater challenges, deeper immersion and a space for me to grow.

The show title reflects how I feel about my mind and life’s work. I value my expanding world, life experiences, my environment, relationships and half remembered dreams.

Making art is an essential part of my survival process in this messy life, it’s a way of making sense of parts of it. At times my practice is therapeutic and it’s definitely regulating.

It brings me a deep sense of purpose and nourishes the child within.
