Tuesday 16 May 2023 from 7pm to 8:30pm
'How do people come together and come apart? Every once in a while, a novel enters my life that I know is destined to become part of my bloodstream. Thirst for Salt is one of those novels and I'm so excited to think of it finding its way to readers who will be changed by it.' – Leslie Jamison
Roaring Stories is incredibly proud to celebrate the extraordinary debut novel of one of our former booksellers, Madelaine Lucas. First published in the United States, it comes to our shores highly recommended by the New York Times as ‘lush and gorgeous…a delicious read, beautifully written and emotionally satisfying’, with Kirkus Reviews saying ‘Lucas’ portrayal of love and desire exerts a wonderful pull.’
On Tuesday 16 May, join Lucas in conversation with singer-songwriter Lo Carmen to talk about a book which is a love story – and so much more.

Thirst for Salt will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with book signings from Lucas following the discussion.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. Seating is unallocated – another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot. Why not make a full evening of it, too, by booking a meal at the Royal Oak before or after the event? One of Balmain's oldest and most loved pubs, it serves a delicious range of food and beverages.
If you miss out on a ticket, you can still watch the event as it is livestreamed from the Roaring Stories Facebook page (accessible on the Home page and from the Live tab). A recording will also be available to view later as an upload on the Roaring Stories YouTube channel.
