Celebrate the Year of the Horse

It's time to fire up the fun! The Year of the Horse is here to wish you good luck, honour and success. Reunite with family and friends on this auspicious occasion and Darling Harbour is celebrating with nearly 2 massive weeks of fun and entertainment.

Visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship for lion dances, tea celebrations, craft workshops, zodiac readings and more, and continue your journey to Cockle Bay for exhilarating jet pack shows and dragon boat races. It wouldn't be a celebration without food, so be sure to round up your loved ones for a cozy dinner or bustling banquet. There are over 150 places to eat and drink in Darling Harbour, including authentic Asian eats in Darling Square and Darling Quarter.

The exciting program includes:

  • Dragon Boat Races - Witness two thrilling days of dragon boat races and entertainment on Cockle Bay, from Saturday 28 Feb - Sun 1 Mar

  • Jet Pack Shows - Catch spectacular performances (at 2pm and 8.45pm) on Cockle Bay on Saturday 21 Feb

  • Lion Dances - Catch traditional Lion Dances on Saturday Feb 17, 21 & 22.

  • Chinese Garden - Enjoy lion dances, tea ceremonies, zodiac readings, music, horse craft workshops for the kids, and more! The garden is also opening up for one night only for a one-of-a-kind Twilight Garden Party.

  • Kids Craft - Celebrate the Year of the Horse with a hands-on craft adventure at the Chinese Garden on Sat 21 & 28 Feb. In this fun and interactive workshop, little creators will transform a simple recycled toilet paper roll into their very own miniature horse.
