Light and shadow in sports photography

When

Saturday 20 November 2021 from 2pm to 3pm

I believe sports photography is more than just capturing actions.

What interests me the most is the intricate balance between light and shadow, as in the case of "yin" and "yang". This becomes my signature style when shooting professional tennis and other sports.

Andy Cheung is a professional sports photographer specialising in tennis; covering Grand Slams, Laver Cup, ATP Cup, Davis Cup and Billy Jean King Cup ties, as well as many other ATP/WTA tournaments. He travels around the world to capture those defining moments. He is staff photographer of the UK Tennis Magazine, British Tennis Coaches Council and Hong Kong SportSoho magazine, a Getty Images Contributor; as well as AIPP NSW Sports Photographer of the Year 2016 & 2017. His work has been exhibited at the Australian HeadOn Photo Festival from 2016 to 2021. Andy’s editorial works are published across major global media outlets like The New York Times, The Times, Newsweek, NBC, ESPN, Forbes, 7News, ABC, SBS, The Guardian, Yahoo Sports, MSN, The Vogue, UK Tennis Magazine, Tennis Australia, etc.

Andy also owns and runs a portraiture studio and fine art printing service for artists and photographers.
