In this engaging 90-minute session, you’ll build a foundational understanding of LGBTIQA+ identities, inclusion, and everyday allyship. Guided by lived experience and filled with real talk, relatable examples, and space for genuine curiosity, this workshop answers the questions people often hesitate to ask.

We’ll unpack key terms, explore why inclusive language and actions matter, and give you practical ways to create safer, more welcoming spaces for LGBTIQA+ colleagues, clients, and community members. Expect a session that’s warm, welcoming, and maybe even a little bit sparkly – because learning about inclusion should feel like you belong there too.

What you'll learn

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define key LGBTIQA+ terms and identities with increased confidence.

  • Explain the significance of pronouns, inclusive language, and visible support.

  • Recognise common myths and misconceptions about LGBTIQA+ communities.

  • Reflect on the real-life impact of exclusion and discrimination.

  • Identify everyday actions to demonstrate respectful allyship in the workplace.

  • Access resources and referral points for further learning and support.
