Originally from Brisbane, Trumpeter and composer Lachlan McKenzie relocated to Sydney in 2021. Since this move, Lachlan has had the opportunity to perform and record with leading Sydney artists including James Morrison, John Harkins, Andrew Robertson Big Band, Michael Gordon Octet, Hammerhead, Andrew Dickeson, Aaron Blakey, Dan Barnett Big Band, and Dave Panichi Big Band. Lachlan recently toured his quartet to Osaka, Japan to perform at the 25th annual Takatsuki Jazz Street Festival.

Along with Lachlan on trumpet, the quintet features the talents of tenor-saxophonist Lachy Hamilton, pianist Wilbur Whitta, bassist Jacob Graham, and drummer George Greenhill. The group performs Lachlan’s original music along with various repertoire from the greater Jazz canon.
