Retrospective: This exhibition is a retrospective of works produced in the studio where Jerry Liew and Dianne Livingstone shared in Johnston Lane, Annandale from the year 2013 to the present.

Jerry Liew had reoccurring themes which he progressively evolve through his practice. His architectural background has manifested in his paintings of urban relics and the Sydney foreshores. Their pictorial forms are reduced to compositions of geometric shapes, shallow spaces and unnatural colours. His simplified self portraits came about from the phenomenal interest in “selfies” in today’s social media. The circle, square and triangle are the building blocks for these works.

Diane Livingstone’s Sydney harbour landscapes and neighbourhood environment are painted with colours that suggest places between the abstract and reality. While her genre works create uncanny scenes that are both physical and psychological .
