Jane Canfield paints primarily in oils and gouache, working off smaller studies produced en plein air and producing larger oil paintings in her studio. She is inspired by the landscape around her in the Central West of New South Wales.

With more than a dozen solo exhibitions to date, Jane Canfield has works in many private collections in Australia and Internationally. Her landscapes are simplified and reduced, creating an impression of the landscape, and using colour as a driving force for the composition.

In 2014 she was collected into the prestigious Kedumba Drawing Award, and has been a finalist in many art prizes including the Paddington, NSW Parliament and Calleen Art Award.
