In A Foreign Affair, comedian Jake Howie sets out to live the gay rom-com he never got to see growing up. Obsessed with Under the Tuscan Sun, Shirley Valentine and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Jake dreamed of foreign lands, great loves and a fabulous cinematic life — but as a little gay boy, the queer movies on offer seemed to promise mostly tragedy.

So Jake decided to write his own ending… by living it. He fell in love with a Brazilian, had his heart broken by a Frenchman, and eventually married an Italian.

A funny, romantic and gloriously messy work-in-progress about turning your life into the movie you always wanted to see.
