STORY MATTERS with SUSANNE GERVAY

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” Atticus Finch. ― page 114 Chapter 16 in Being Jack (extract taken from Harper Lee’s, To Kill a Mockingbird)

Stories that reach young people as well as adults can be the conduit to values of inclusion, the environment, racism, disability, bullying, peace, family, mental health, gender, the great issues that impact our lives and the world. Books such as Narnia, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anne Frank, Catcher in the Rye become the midwives of powerful ideas delivering stories that matter to young people and society.

Awarded the Lifetime Social Justice Literature Award by the International Literacy Association, Order of Australia and nominee for Australia for Lindgren Memorial Award, SUSANNE GERVAY writes on significant issues reaching young people and adults.
