Welcome to the world of watercolour. You can be a complete beginner or maybe you’ve got some prior painting experience. This class will teach you the practical skills and techniques used in watercolour painting.

You will learn about the specific properties of watercolour paint, and develop practical skills and techniques in paint application, brush-work, colour mixing, rendering light and shade, tonal value, and design in watercolour painting.

By the end of the class, everyone will have completed one of their own watercolour paintings, and be able to take their new skills to continue developing their own style, in this particular medium.

Where: THE SPACE gallery, ART gallery in The Cannery, Rosebery

Time: 12:30 to 3:00 pm

This creative, engaging workshop has been created for beginners who want to explore a new art style and enjoy a relaxing creative experience. You'll be surrounded by stunning artworks for inspiration and led by an encouraging artist to create a personal masterpiece.

It's a great excuse for a bit of time to yourself, or an opportunity to reconnect with friends, through art and shared experiences.

In this workshop, guided by our brilliant art teacher, you will learn how to:

  • Discover the beauty of watercolours

  • Experiment with colours and techniques

  • Create several stunning artworks (you might even want to frame some!)

  • Discover or improve your creativity techniques

  • Learn skills to create future masterpieces at home

  • Create your own A4 Colour Wheel Sheet for future reference

  • Create Individual artworks including 2 x A5 and 1 x A4 creations.

Class Duration: 2.5 Hours

You’ll take home:

Watercolour sample of colours and exercise sheet.

Your own watercolour

Your own watercolour artwork on watercolour paper. Two x A5 creations and one x A4 creation are perfect for framing or gifting.

Who:

This workshop is appropriate for beginners. Participants must be over the age of 13 or over the age of 10yrs old and accompanied by an adult. 

All materials supplied

No experience is necessary and the class size will hold a maximum of 7 participants which helps to enable more individual one-on-one time with the teacher.

You will be provided with an apron, or you may choose to bring your own.

If you love it you may wish to follow it up with one of our Watercolour Colour Theory Classes.

Your space in a class is reserved only once full payment has been received.

Our workshop tickets are non-refundable, but if you are aware you will be unable to attend, you may pass your ticket to someone else you wish to come to your place.

In the event, you forget to come or you are unable to attend a workshop, the ticket is non-transferable after the event.
