Improv Theatre Sydney is a creative, inclusive and world-class school for students of improvisation. We are Sydney’s first and only dedicated improv theatre.

Improvisation is a collaborative method of creating live, spontaneous theatre. We teach people how to conceive original scenes in the moment, spontaneously discovering ideas, relationships and worlds – all from a single audience suggestion.

Our Level 6 participants are learning new improv formats and lucky for you, you can watch them hot off the press! Watch our highest level students perform different formats each week as they’re learning them.

In week one they’ll perform an Armando, week two features Monoscenes, week three a Spokane, week four is the Deconstruction, week five they’ll try their hand at Directing, week six will be a dive into narrative improv with a Soap Opera, week seven is Genre Play, and in week eight you’ll get a sneak peak at their chosen grad show format!

9.15pm Wednesday & Thursday evenings at Improv Theatre Sydney

Tickets FREE. Registration is required via our website at https://improvtheatresydney.com.au/events/level-6-weekly-showcase-2/

Covid-safe information

As many of you would know from the news coverage and recent anticipation of announcements by the NSW Government, restrictions are being eased across the state that will impact us all. We continue our aim to work in a Covid Safe-compliant environment, as well as a functional and fun environment.

Please take note of the following:

  1. Our Covid Safe Plan, including requirements to report close contacts with Improv Theatre Sydney as directed is still in place. Service NSW QR Code Check ins, verifying student vaccination certs and other operations related to the Covid Safe Plan are still in place.

  2. Everyone, including staff, management, faculty and contractors who work or attend face to face meetings, workshops & classes, performances and other “on site” activities are still required to provide proof of vaccination before attending. Our staff are being asked to prioritise their booster as soon as they are eligible. We ask this of our students and community as well. Exemptions may apply, and we welcome you to enquire if you believe this applies to you.

  3. Masks are required indoors where social distancing is not possible. This includes classes, performances or other activities in the building. Exceptions are during performances, while teaching or while performing “exercises” in class. Audience members are asked to wear a mask at all times.

View our full Covid Safety Plan at https://improvtheatresydney.com.au/covid-19/. Please contact us should you have any questions or concerns. Queries regarding Covid Safety can go to info@improvtheatresydney.com.au
