Saturday morning, 1998…Video Hits is on the telly. The Spice Girls appear, you LOVE the Spice Girls! But wait; do you wanna BE Sporty Spice or do you wanna be WITH her?

Featuring ‘90s-‘00s hits, this cabaret-comedy dances you through queer milestones and parodies heteronormative culture.

Think; discovering sexuality, unraveling gender, entering the queer scene, break ups, bad haircuts and teaching *insert family member here* what a pronoun is, intertwined with satirical rewrites of your favourite pop songs played on keyboard and guitar.

I Want it That Gay is an irreverent look at the way popular culture shapes what we see and therefore who we’re allowed to be. Crack open your CD cases and reclaim the millennial adolescence of your rainbow dreams.

REVIEWS

"This endearing, deeply relatable show is perfect for millennials seeking that nostalgic hit, but it's also the show for parents of millennials and elders seeking to better understand just what it was like growing up queer in the ’90s." - Time Out
