Portals exist everywhere – often in the natural world and in places imbued with human essence. I find them in nature, in second-hand stores, in the textures of the everyday. This exhibition marks my second solo show, where I explore the relationship between place and the psyche, reflecting on moments of introspection and stillness in the natural world and its inherent ability to transcend us from our immediate mind and surroundings.
Portals invites you to enter a world of layered landscapes, otherworldly and ethereal scenes. My work transports me from the present moment into the past, the future, and into worlds both unknown and unseen. Through my practice, I find the language that these places evoke within my internal sphere, how light, form and atmosphere create a kaleidoscope of colours that lie within me and shapes the world around me.
Join us for opening drinks 6–8pm Friday 11 July.
