Iconic Australian venue the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) is set to launch an innovative and immersive experience open to all visitors to the Darling Harbour precinct - Gadigal Dreaming - The Sacred Country of the Gadigal People.
Developed in collaboration with First Nations partners, the activation allows visitors to experience the traditional culture of Sydney’s original custodians through everyday scenes including fishing, corroboree, hunting, camp life and cosmology legends.
Running from 1 September to 31 October, ‘Gadigal Dreaming – The Sacred Country of the Gadigal People’ will be shown at 6pm daily on the outdoor screens throughout Darling Harbour, Tumbalong, and then every hour on the hour until 11:00pm. For those with their own devices, the activation is accessible at all times via QR codes displayed on site, each of which launches a unique augmented reality experience.
The activation has been supported by Investment New South Wales as part of the NSW Government’s $50 million CBDs Revitalisation Program, aiming to reignite social connection, place-based storytelling and economic activity in urban centres across Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, through a range of arts, music, food and beverage and cultural events.
