The Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Fashion & Textiles – a University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and TAFE NSW partnership – hosts a demonstration of the Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT® knit machine. Centre director Dr Lisa Lake will facilitate a panel discussion with fashion designer Gary Bigeni and textile researcher Dr Doris Li.

UTS School of Design recently procured the latest Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT® knit machine for its knit lab. This seamless knit machine creates entire garments in one piece, greatly reducing yarn and material waste. Highly skilled technicians can program a wide variety of designs and knit styles into these machines, which can support made-to-order and bespoke garment production.
