Saturday 27 May from 5pm to 6pm
Have you ever experienced both the elegance of European Classical and the excitement of South American Tango, in one musical concert?
Allow Ensemble Twelve.88 (formerly Teller ensemble) to present this compelling concept - a piano quartet by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Astor Piazzolla.
We will first travel back to 18th Century Vienna with Piano quartet in G minor written by a young Mozart, a piece that would ultimately become a staple in chamber music and beloved by classical musicians everywhere.
Then off to 1960s Argentina... Vamos! We bring you the wonderful Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, a set of compositions by Piazzolla , as well as Libertango, an exciting piece marking Piazzolla's ultimate move from conventional tango to tango nuevo.
One not to be missed, this concert brings the very best of both worlds, demonstrating that music, whether it be classical, contemporary or abstract, can be showcased in one performance and lose none of its allure.
