Studio Harcourt from Paris, a Living Heritage Enterprise and an iconic photography studio for stars and celebrities since 1936, is crossing continents to make its first-ever stop in Australia as part of the Alliance Française (AF) French Film Festival 2025.

From its prestigious Parisian salons, where the most celebrated figures in cinema, art, and fashion have long been immortalized, Studio Harcourt has captured the essence of stars like Alain Delon, Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Spike Lee, Cate Blanchett, Keanu Reeves, and more.

Studio Harcourt is travelling to Australia, inviting the public to experience the magic of black-and-white portraiture through an exclusive exhibition. This event will take place in Sydney during the launch of the Alliance Française (AF) French Film Festival 2025, showcasing the iconic chiaroscuro lighting style that has made Studio Harcourt famous the world over.

Supported by the French Embassy in Australia, the exhibition will transform the walls of the Alliance Française de Sydney (257 Clarence Street Sydney) into a gallery of portraits, available for public viewing from 4 March to 9 April.

One of the exhibit’s highlights is sure to be the inclusion of Charles Aznavour and Tahar Rahim in a special portrait series. Rahim, photographed 50 years after Aznavour at Studio Harcourt in Paris, portrays the legendary singer in the film Monsieur Aznavour, directed by Mehdi Idir and Grand Corps Malade.

Pop-up Studio Harcourt step into the legend

For nearly 90 years, Studio Harcourt’s ephemeral studios have captured the essence of glamour and artistic excellence across the world. From the Cannes Film Festival to the Grand Hôtel de Biarritz, from Beijing to Rio, Harcourt’s legacy continues to shine.

In an exclusive and intimate setting, carefully designed in the lower level of the Alliance Française de Sydney, Studio Harcourt will open its doors from March 2 to 7, 2025, offering individual and family portrait sessions.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience is limited to only 20 exclusive sessions, available by appointment only. Price list available upon request for this experience.
