The Women's Club are continuing their Women in Music program: a celebration of the incredible contributions of women to the world of music, with a special emphasis on Australian music.

Aimee Brown is a recorder player, historical dancer, and musicologist. After completing a bachelors in recorder performance at Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Royal College of Music, London, she has had the pleasure of performing baroque to contemporary recorder music both locally and internationally, a highlight being performing in the home town of Michael Praetorius.

Aimee has recently completed a Masters in Musicology at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where her research focused on the education of musicians in baroque dance. This research led to her forming a studio and group, Sydney Baroque Ballet, through which she offers regular classes and performances. She has presented her research at the International Conference in Historical Performance in Queluz, Portugal, and at the Seventh Annual Conference in Historical Performance in Bloomington, Indiana, USA.

Aimee has also had the privilege of presenting a workshop for New York Baroque Dance Company through their program, Pen to Pirouette. Aimee was awarded the National Council of Women Australia Day Award by The Women's Club in 2022, and is very excited to curate and perform this program of beautiful recorder music!

Ingrid Fittler is a recorder player who graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is a member of the ‘Judgment of Paris’ recorder ensemble. As part of the ensemble, Ingrid was a recipient of the George Henderson scholarship to study in Germany. The group released their album ‘Goddesses’ in 2021 of debut pieces by Australian composers for recorder.
