Monday 24 March from 12pm to 12:30pm Wednesday 26 March from 12pm to 12:30pm

Join City of Sydney waste and recycling experts for free webinars on how to give new life to old tech and tackle the growing electronic waste problem.

From old phones and tangled cords to upgraded appliances – we all have electronic clutter.

With the rise of Fast Tech and short-lived ‘throwaway’ devices, electronic waste or e-waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams. But there’s good news: by reusing, repairing and recycling old tech, you can help tackle this growing problem.

In this virtual lunch and learn, we’ll explore the facts and share sustainable solutions for electronics. In just 30 minutes, you’ll learn:

  • What e-waste really is, the rise of Fast Tech and how we can slow down

  • The science behind electronic recycling

  • Simple ways to reduce, repair and reuse

  • How to delete your data

  • Easy ways to recycle electronics in our local area.

Plus, there will be a live Q&A, so bring along your questions!

The information in these webinars will be relevant to City of Sydney residents. Each session will be recorded and will cover the same information. We’ll send out a recording to all registrants after each session.

We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible events. If you have any specific access or communication needs, please contact the City of Sydney's Waste Avoidance Team on 02 9265 9333 or email wasteavoidance@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
