In this series of four workshops with artist Jude Rae, You’ll learn a variety of pencil drawing techniques, including practical elements of construction such as composition and tonal relationships as well as refined aspects of touch.
This series is limited to eight people only and is a wonderful opportunity to learn in a small exclusive environment.
You’ll meet in the Members Lounge on lower level 3 of the Art Gallery of New South Wales south building, Naala Nura, at 10.15am then move to the study room on lower level 2 at 10.30am to study drawings and prints from the Art Gallery’s collection, up close and unframed, as inspiration for the workshop.
Jude Rae is a regular finalist in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes, twice winner of the Portia Geach Memorial Award for Portraiture, and the recipient of the prestigious 2016 Bulgari Award presented in partnership with the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
