Tuesday 20 August from 10:30am to 1pm
In this workshop, artist and traveller Sheila Posner will introduce you to the concept of the travel sketchbook as a fun way of recording places and experiences.
Small sketchbooks are a time-honoured way of documenting journeys, whether it's an overseas trip or your daily commute, making notes and testing ideas. In this workshop, Posner will show examples of her own sketchbooks and demonstrate techniques using water-based pens and watercolour wash, which can be used to produce quick sketches on the go or more detailed studies. You will then create your own sketches, adding words and notations.
Sheila Posner is a practicing artist who works in a variety of media. She studied at Walthamstow Art School in London, and her works are featured in collections across Australia, the UK and USA. For the past ten years she has travelled the world as an art instructor on cruise ships.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. All materials provided. Bring an A5 watercolour sketchbook and your own travel photos.
