Seven is a special number and is connected to intuition, wisdom, growing self-awareness and big shifts that can have a positive impact on your life. Seven members of the 5Lands Artists Collective come together in a group show, presenting their individual visual interpretations on the seemingly everyday, but thought provoking, subject of doors. A door is a gateway to endless and unknown possibilities. The artists delve into themes of transition, life’s journeys and the enigmatic allure that doorways can hold.

A collective is a cooperative enterprise that acts together for a common goal. This collective of diverse, highly experienced artists from the Central Coast region north of Sydney span an age range of four decades and a media range of painting, drawing and sculpture. Each artist offers their unique exploration into the concept of 'doors' from profound symbolism to structural reality. Included in the exhibition of 2D and 3D works is a variety of media: oil and mixed-media painting, watercolour, charcoal drawing, sculpture in wood, stone and found objects all in varying styles: representational, illustrative, conceptual and abstract.

The exhibition at The Shop Gallery Glebe is open from April 11th to 17th 11am to 5pm. All are invited to an opening event on Saturday 13th April from 3pm.
