Adieu Uncut Pubic Cubic! is an exploration into the silliness and seriousness of having hair.

Join creators Mym and Vic for a free development showing and Q&A discussion of their new experimental dance work. Blending practices of documentary theatre and dance; two women and a pile of wigs unravel the slippery narratives of knotted shame and uncover vulnerable desires.

Playful, flippant and rooted in resistance, you’re invited into their messy attempt to untangle the identity politics and personal preferences of hair. Free, registrations required.

Audience warnings: Mature Themes.

About the Artists

Adieu Uncut Pubic Cubic! brings together experimental theatre artists Mym Kwa and Victoria Abbott.

Mym Kwa is an artist working across theatre, dance, screen and live art. Drawn to investigations of latent intimacy in public spaces, Mym’s practice traces desire, memory and metamorphosis as sites of destabilisation between self and other. Mym frequently collaborates with leading Australian performance companies and festivals, contributing to large-scale theatre and interdisciplinary projects.

Victoria Abbott is a writer, performer, clown and director with over 30 years of professional experience. She specialises in documentary and verbatim theatre, creating award-winning works for her company Run Rabbit Theatre. Lyrical writing and documentary gathering feed her experimental practice. Her work is inherently entertaining and political.
