Dedal de Oro

When

Friday 10 November 2023 from 8pm to 9pm Saturday 11 November 2023 from 8pm to 9pm

A modern take on a 'comedy of errors'. Like heaps!

A visit to family in Chile is taken over by a ‘little white lie’ that eventually grows to have a life of its own… Dedal de Oro is a bilingual, biographical comedy about the cringeworthy pitfalls of adulthood and the bittersweet parts of growing up as first-generation in Australia.

This story was originally shortlisted for ATYP’s Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission in 2021, and performed as an excerpt for Queerstories, State Library in 2023.

Dedal de Oro (Golden Thimble): Plant. A colloquial name for the widespread California poppy, given for its golden/orange colour.

  • Writer, director and performer: Natali Caro

  • Dramaturg: Zindzi Okenyo
