“Bricked laptops and phones now hold pieces of us locked inside braindead motherboards, behind smashed screens, glitched restarts, and failed backups.” – Make or Break
As part of Make or Break’s residency project D!sa$$3mbly L1n3s at Field Rooms, this workshop guides you in different types of making and breaking, including tinkering, disassembly, drawing, writing, movement, and embossing using a simple home-made press.
Bring an old phone, tablet, laptop, hard drive, or other dead electronics to take apart*, and together we’ll be thinking creatively about what we throw away, and how we remember.
* BYO device recommended but not required – we have spares.
