Saturday 13 January 2024 from 9:30am to 10:30am
Join Heather, the author of Dark Tales of Lost Leichhardt, the book of the true crime history of the suburb from the 1820s to the 1950s as she takes you on a ramble along one of Sydney's oldest and strangest streets. It may not look much on the surface but Moore Street packs a punch:
Hear the filthy history of White's Creek
Find out about the industrial accidents that claimed lives
Wonder at the murders and deaths and suspicious activities along its route
Was an arsonist on the loose?
Get the low down on the history of landmark buildings
Finish up at Nick's legendary coffee shop, The Local Tart, where you can buy some tasty snacks
Due to the topics being covered this is not suitable for young children.
We will be walking approximately half a kilometre along Moore Street. You undertake this tour at your own risk so take precautions and come prepared with suitable footwear, sun protection and/or wet weather gear if needed.
Come prepared to view the usual with new eyes!
