Dark Tales Of Lost Leichhardt - Hawthorne Canal Walk

Hawthorne Canal and the beautiful parklands around it, on the western border of Leichhardt, hides a terrible secret.

Venture back with me to find out about the history of the area now occupied by Dobroyd Point, Haberfield and the canal. Discover:

• The terror of the Ramsay's Bush encampment

• Significant deaths and murders

• Go on the trail of a serial offender

• Learn about the harsh environs

The walk will take around 1-hour. We will meet at the bottom of Lilyfield Road Hill at the roundabout and walk along the canal path until we get to Allen Street. You are undertaking this walk at your own risk, so please keep to the path and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Bring an umbrella if wet and possibly a torch too. The topics covered in this talk make it not suitable for children.
