From a family story rooted in Yarrabah, Far North Queensland, to the lawns of the White House in Washington DC, Daniel Joinbee has packed a lot into the first thirty-five years of his life.

He’s a proud Gunggandji man, the first Air Force officer to receive his navy diving and demolitions qualifications, founder of Australia’s first and only 100% Aboriginal-owned aerospace consultancy, a champion for creating aspiration and opportunity for young First Nations people, and a devoted father of soon-to-be-four.

Throughout his life, Daniel’s resilience and entrepreneurial spirit have taken him from diving into pitch-black water under naval boats at night, to building an aerospace venture grounded in his Gunggandji heritage and working with the highest levels of government and business.

Join Daniel for an evening in conversation and story. He’ll share his journey from the challenges of his early childhood to his groundbreaking military service, and now his social entrepreneurship as a founder and leader in aerospace. Daniel and host Jonathan Webb will also have a conversation about enabling Indigenous communities to blaze their own trails through empowering programs like Raising Horizons.
