Saxophonist & composer Damon Poppleton combines his love of the jazz orchestra, with the agility, trust & sensitivity of the small group, to create exciting music that conveys the personal experiences he writes about in a truthful & convincing way.

Debuting at the Manly Jazz Festival in 2019, when Damon was 16, the group has continued to make their mark playing around Sydney.

In April 2024, the quartet released their first album, “Substation Lookout,” which showcases many of Damon's original compositions. Awarded 4.5 stars by Barry O'Sullivan (Fine Music Magazine), who said "(Substation Lookout) is a handsome debut recording with some stellar moments displaying their obvious talent & premature sophistication".
