Damian Wright & Metin Yilmaz will be presenting a special duo performance of flamenco guitar and Kurdish flute, two distinct yet strongly rooted cultural and musical traditions.
Come and listen to ARIA-nominated flamenco guitarist Damian Wright (bandaluzia) and kaval player Metin Yilmaz (Kurdish/Turkish flute) bring their unique styles and deep musical experiences together with their own compositions, alongside expressive improvisations as well as makams (musical scales from the East) and melodies from Anatolia.

Damian recently released his debut album “Shifting Sands” (ABC Music) which was The Sydney Morning Heralds ‘Album of the week’ where it was described as “Glorious guitar playing”.
Metin Yilmaz is a virtuoso exponent of the kaval (ancient/traditional flute).
Metin is disciple of Ustad Sinan Celik and Osman Aktas, Turkey's first and foremost Kaval masters and music producers. Of Kurdish origin and born in Turkey, Metin's experience as a performing and recording artist in Turkey and Europe and Australia is extensive since has become a renowned kaval player.
