This highly anticipated exhibition showcasing the works of Colin Passmore and Debra Hutton is upon us. Painterly bursts of colour abound in this new show!

Colin Passmore’s unique Australian landscapes and coastal imagery bring to life the essence of the Australian environment through his innovative use of media and distinctive brushwork. Born and educated in Western Australia, Passmore relocated to Noosa, Queensland in 1982, where he began exhibiting his work and quickly gained acclaim from top galleries and critics. With a career spanning over 35 years, Passmore’s paintings have become highly sought-after by collectors both in Australia and internationally, with his works featured in collections in the USA, Canada, England, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Middle East, New Zealand, and Holland.

Passmore’s paintings offer a unique perspective on the Australian landscape, characterized by unexpected colour combinations and a dynamic visual language. His works are known for their rich detailing, clever use of negative space, and the ability to transport viewers into the midst of Australian nature. By focusing on the texture of trees and weeds, Passmore brings forward motifs of small birds, flowers, and lily pads, creating immersive, almost audible experiences.

Debra Hutton excites the art world with her intrinsic expressionist abstract works. As an Australian stylist turned visual artist, she brings a clear and unique visual language to the canvas. Inspired by kaleidoscopic tints, tones, and natural palette combinations, Hutton’s paintings reflect her love of Italy with evocative titles such as "Rio Maggiore" and "Positano Blooms," embodying the essence of la dolce vita.

Hutton’s long term involvement with the arts has significantly influenced her artistic journey. Now residing on the Sunshine Coast, she has had the opportunity to work alongside artists like Colin Passmore, further developing her unique style. Currently represented by Wentworth Galleries, Hutton’s works are known for their vibrant colours and expressive forms, capturing the beauty and spirit of natural landscapes through an abstract lens.
