Chroma Vector brings together two artists responding to the purification of colour through geometric abstraction, navigating how structure, movement and spatiality are felt through a contemporary visual language.
‘Chroma’, meaning the intensity of colour, and ‘Vector’, suggesting direction and force, together evoke works that reflect the dynamic relationship between colour, form and movement in response to the artist's world and perception.
There is nothing static in the many works of both Pollyxenia Joannou and Nahu Saad. Both female artists work within geometric abstraction through sculptural painting and painted sculpture, and both enact a self-referential art-making practice while concurrently exploring figurative colour field painting to explore the optical potential of kinetic abstraction.
