Transport for NSW has lodged a rezoning proposal with the Department of Planning and Environment to develop the area in and around Central Station.
Join Lord Mayor Clover Moore and City of Sydney and Transport for NSW representatives for a public meeting about the proposal.
Transport for NSW will present its proposal. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, and your feedback will help inform the City of Sydney’s submission.
The proposal is open for public comment until Monday 19 September.
This event is free but you will need to register to attend.
Transport for NSW’s proposal seeks to create:
Around 15 new buildings of 4 to 34 storeys above and around the intercity rail lines
A new technology and innovation precinct, creating 28,700 jobs (excluding the Western Gateway sub-precinct)
Approximately 850 residential units, including 15% affordable housing and a target of 15% diverse housing, such as student housing
Approximately 2 hectares of open space, including parks, plazas and squares
new bridges across the railway connecting Surry Hills to Haymarket and Chippendale, and Redfern to Chippendale
You can make your own submission on the Department’s website. Attending this public meeting should help inform your submission.
