Be Inspired to think differently

CBD Expo will motivate us to think differently. To embrace opportunity and engage in new technology and ways of connecting in both new and traditional markets. And to look at scalability.

Official Welcome - Linda Scott. Clr. of The City of Sydney

Linda is a Labor Councillor on the City of Sydney Council, formerly serving as Deputy Lord Mayor and currently President of the Australian Local Government Association and Deputy Chair of Labor’s Sustainable Communities Committee.

Keynote Speaker Daniel Avakian

Aimed at inspiring us to ‘think differently’ at CBD Expo 2023, Daniel Avakian is an Australian fashion designer and entrepreneur who is the founder of his own eponymous fashion label, DANIEL AVAKIAN (DA), and is a co-founder of fash-tech start-up REAL TIME FASHION.

Daniel will share his 23-year creative and business journey, which started from humble beginnings as a tow-truck driver in Sydney’s Northshore and onto one of Australia’s most renowned independent fashion designers, who has reached the top of the international fashion world through passion and his prodigious drive of making his clients look and feel impeccable through his design aesthetic.

The DΛ brand has shown with international acclaim at Australian Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week runways. Avakian has won numerous awards for his fashion designs and has dressed both corporate powerhouses and celebrities the world over. DΛ designs have for over a decade been donned on both domestic and international red carpets dressing high-profile celebrities, including Guy Sebastian, Jennifer Hawkins, Charlie Sheen, Mel B, Rebecca Judd, and dozens of others.

In addition to the DΛ Brand, Avakian has also designed exclusive outfits for Stage, TV and in Collaboration. He has also created bespoke pieces for various corporate clients, including Qantas Airways, Rolls Royce, Rockpool Group, Pitcher Partners, Lend Lease, and Crown Resorts, and in February designed an exclusive capsule collection for the pilot of Channel 10’s hit TV program ‘I am a celebrity get me out of here’. His exclusive designs are known for their sleek, modern aesthetic and attention to detail.
