“Captured Culture” | Opening Night 19 November at Ochredfern.

First Nations multi passionate Artist, Kashael Bigby takes you on a journey through the Dreamtime in his debut solo exhibition. 

Newly Gadigal based with birth connections to the Kombumerri people of the Gold Coast, Wakka Wakka people of Cherbourg, and Ngati Kahungunu people of the

North Island of New Zealand. 

Witness this stimulating fresh collection created on Gadigal Lands. 

Homage to his traditional elders past and present, an ode to his indigenous heritage. 

At 24 years, Kashael is a freelance multi-passionate artist. Being professionally trained in the field of Makeup Artistry + Screen and Media. While the foundation of First Nations art knowledge was established painting as a Jarjum (child) with his Aunty Jeanie. 

A display of connections to country and community, embracing pride as a young blak queer man, whilst featuring stories old and new of lands they have walked about on. 

Making waves with a uniquely inspiring style and use of colour - an ode to his father’s country, Barambah with hints of cultural ties to his saltwater birthplace on Kombumerri country.
