Start your Cantonese language journey with this foundational Cantonese: Beginners Level 1 course designed for complete beginners. From your very first class, you’ll begin speaking and understanding practical Cantonese for everyday situations.

Cantonese is widely spoken in Hong Kong and southern China and is known for its rich tonal system and expressive spoken style. In this course, you’ll focus on developing clear pronunciation, learning how tones work, and building confidence using simple sentence structures in real-life contexts.

With guidance from an experienced tutor, you’ll practise listening and speaking in a supportive environment, helping you recognise and produce tones accurately — an essential skill for being understood. You’ll also be introduced to commonly used written characters and gain insight into Cantonese culture, customs and communication styles.
