Bianca Gardiner-Dodd is a Kamilaroi woman with cultural ties to Bundjalung through her husband and children. Born in Liverpool NSW Bianca has spent the last 35 years living on the Far North Coast Tweed Region of NSW. Her mother was born in the North Western town of Goodooga.

Much of Bianca’s work reflects her contemporary perspective of Aboriginal art, with an overriding inspiration stemming from the pristine coastal environment of ocean, beach, surf, dunes, creeks, rainforest and parklands that surround her.

“Throughout my artistic practice I aim to both communicate and articulate my interpretation of the traditional lands I am proud to have grown up on. My practice draws from an expansive experience in a landscape that shifts dramatically along the coastline. I draw upon visual and symbolic nature of my ancestry, my paintings representing my interpretation of both the land I physically exist in, intricately intertwined with the Dreamtime stories that shape the Australian unique and distinctive landscape. Descending from a strong lineage of artists, I can acknowledge the influence and immersion I have so gratefully been exposed to from a young age” – Bianca Gardiner-Dodd
