Sunday 1 February from 10am to 12pm
Experience the profound beauty of worship elevated by the grandeur of an Orchestral Program at St James’ Church which weaves together the timeless rhythms of liturgy, the expressive power of choral and instrumental artistry, and the rich cultural heritage of one of Sydney’s most historic sacred spaces. This celebration transforms the traditional Mass into a deeply moving encounter, where faith and artistic excellence converge. Surrounded by the Francis Greenway Georgian architecture of St James’, the resonant voices of the choir and the sweeping textures of Sydney’s leading orchestral musicians invite all present into a moment of transcendence, reflection, and communal joy.
On the 1st of February, St James’ has its first Orchestral Mass of 2026- at 10:00am the full Choir of St James’ will perform a Bach Cantata Eucharist: Sehet, welch eine Liebe hat uns der Vater erzeiget, BWV 64 with Palestrina – Missa Sine Nomine, arranged by J S Bach.
