The Galeries will be celebrating the festive season in an unconventional way, embracing the thoughtful art of regifting gifts, helping those less fortunate in return. They will be partnering with Australian Red Cross to give back to those in our community who may be undergoing hardship through a Christmas Gift donation drive.
They encourage you to donate new and unused items to Australian Red Cross, and the funds raised will support Australian Red Cross humanitarian programs. In return, you’ll receive a $20 Galeries Gift Card as a reward for your involvement in creating positive impact.
You can also visit their immersive Christmas tree conveyor belt installation which can be found on Ground Floor. The installation is be the drop-off point for the donated gifts. Staff will be onsite to assist with the donation drop offs from 11am-4pm daily until Boxing Day (26 December 2023).
The Galeries will also be championing their roots within the art community by engaging with multidisciplinary digital artist Mikka Byarugaba, better known as Mikkapedia. His art will feature throughout centre this Christmas period and will showcase common gifts that are regifted through a unique digital art direction, designed to further encourage customers to donate goods they may longer have the need for.
