Art Deco walking tour with Claudia Chan Shaw

Join us for a tour of the Kimpton Margot Sydney hotel and exhibition tour at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, exploring the two iconic movements of art deco and art nouveau.
Starting at the Kimpton Margot Sydney hotel, Claudia Chan Shaw will take you behind the scenes of this eclectic 1930s building with its elegant art-deco design and original features.
After the tour, enjoy a short morning tea in the hotel’s lobby cafe.
The tour will continue to the Art Gallery of New South Wales to view Alphonse Mucha: Spirit of Art Nouveau. Led by one of the Art Gallery’s volunteer guides, explore the most comprehensive exhibition ever seen in Australia of Mucha’s work, including illustrations, jewellery, interior decoration, photographs and more. Mucha developed a new language that defined the look of late 19th-century Paris to be the very spirit of art nouveau.
