Anil Dhital widely celebrated as “Sitar Boy,” is an internationally renowned musician and a master of the sitar. Born in Nepal, Anil has become one of the country’s most respected musicians, gaining global recognition for his innovative approach to music.
Anil’s musical career began with his exploration of various genres, including metal, rock, blues, and jazz. As a guitarist, he showcased his versatility and creativity, performing with numerous bands and musicians across different styles. However, it was the sitar that ultimately captured his heart and gave him the artistic satisfaction he longed for. This shift marked a turning point in his career, as he began to immerse himself in the rich tradition of Indian classical music while also exploring its contemporary possibilities.
Anil has performed on more than 1,000 stages across the globe, captivating audiences with his unique fusion of tradition and innovation. In 2010, he achieved a major milestone by representing Nepal in the Global Battle of the Bands Challenge in the UK. this prestigious competition opened the doors to international recognition and led to tours across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Indonesia, China, India, Australia, and Nepal. Each performance showcased his ability to connect with diverse audiences, blending the timeless sounds of the sitar with modern influences.
