The word sonder means ‘the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own’.

Angela Knight’s show at The Shop Gallery from 21-24 July explores ideas of aloneness, separation and independence through her drawn images of urban landscapes.

Angela’s drawing process is slow, repetitive and meditative. The pencil is dense and deliberate. There is a multi-layered blending of colours and textures to achieve a jewel-like image.

Angela has been a finalist in the 2023 Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize and was commended in the 2022 Arts in the Valley Prize.

Angela lives in the Inner West working from a home studio. This is her first solo show.
