An evening with Polar Explorer & Activist Robert Swan OBE

This ‘father and son’ event is a rare opportunity to meet one of the planet’s most intrepid polar explorers and environmentalists, Robert Swan OBE and his son Barney Swan, founder of Climate Force. Coming together for the first time in Australia, you are invited to hear incredible stories of resilience & hope, and their mission to restore one of the oldest rainforests on earth, The Daintree.

Robert Swan was the first person in history to walk both north and south poles at a time when standing on the moon was a more common occurrence. Robert and two others undertook this extraordinary challenge over 30 years ago with no radio, no satellite navigation equipment, and no external support whatsoever. In 2018 Robert passed the baton to his son Barney Swan, who became the first person in history to journey to the South Pole powered entirely by renewable energy. Never a stranger to overcoming the odds, Robert and Barney completed the Undaunted: South Pole 2023 Expedition, showing the world what is possible to achieve if you persevere.

At the behest of Jacques Cousteau some 32 yrs ago, Robert dedicated his life to preserving Antarctica and the planet by promoting sustainability to combat the effects of climate change. Today, Robert and the 2041 Foundation have embarked on their next expedition: to champion the Australia-based charity, Climate Force. Founded by Barney in the Daintree on the land where he was raised, Climate Force is pioneering and implementing scalable climate tech, landcare and carbon capture strategies to reduce CO2 and regenerate the biosphere.

This is the first time Robert and Barney will come together to share their incredible stories of overcoming adversity, resilience & hope in their years of exploration and now as they embark on their joint mission to restore one of earths oldest rainforests.

Convened by the team at Elevation Barn Australia, this event is also an opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones and get inspired to connect with your own higher calling.
