Activate inclusion sports day

When

Friday 2 December from 10am to 1pm

The City of Sydney in partnership with Variety and Sports NSW/Disabilities Sports Australia are running the first Activate inclusion sports day in the City of Sydney. The day is designed to promote the pathways for inclusion sport and active recreation programs and encourage students with disability to participate in community sport and active recreation on a regular basis.

Activate Inclusion Sports Day encourages and empowers primary and high school students ages 5-18 years to explore sporting opportunities in their local communities. Benefits of attending the day include:

- the health benefits of physical activity

- building social wellbeing and friendship

- strengthening balance, coordination and mobility skills

- working as part of team, collaborating and planning

- increased self-esteem through a sense of achievement
